Here is my interpretation of the words for this week.

SHINEI love the way the sun is shining on the water.  It seems to come from the horizon and just keep coming right towards me.

FASTMy granddaughter was playing Mario Cart on the Wii.  Birdo completed a trick and picked up a boost that made her fly along the course.  She is going so fast that the rest of the track got a bit blurry.

LEFTTwo months after my friend Jan died I was back in Columbia, Md.  I went to the condo complex where she lived to walk around the lake behind Jan’s condo.   The condo was for sale and the back gate was open.  I walked in and even though the house was empty there were five of her bird houses still hanging there.  It was the only thing left there. I took one of the birdhouses and it is my backyard on my fence.  Every morning I look out my window and smile.

PEACEMy sister has been on the liver transplant list for a while now.  She is required to go through quite a bit of testing every few months.  When she still lived in Charleston, I would drive to Jacksonville to take her to the Mayo Clinic.  Her tests took two days to complete.   We would arrive early in the morning and leave in the afternoon both days.  Mayo had set up several a large area with small lakes like this one, bushes, trees, flowers, fountains, and these bridges.     You can see the grounds from the large windows at Mayo.  There is such a sense of peace in this beautiful area.  People walk around the area, sit on benches, pray and share stories with each other.

PLAINThese are two very plain river rocks with two simple words.  These stones are placed on a table at the Out of Darkness Walk .  The walks are for suicide awareness, community support, and for friends and family of those who have completed suicide.   People write words that are important to them on the rocks.  Remembering and Forgiveness are crucial to healing.  Plain Rocks that carry an important message.
